A new landscape area will enhance all the environmental riches present along the banks of the Dora Baltea river, on the stretch between the municipalities of Chambave and Saint-Marcel, as announced by the Environmental, Natural Resources and Forestry Councillor and the President of the Regional Consortium for the protection, increase and exercise of fishing in Valle d’Aosta. Among the new features: an area dedicated to recreational fishing and the tourist cycle path.

In particular, a fishing tourism reserve will be created, which at the same time will be able to offer several options: These range from the cycle path that touches the sports areas of Chambave and Fénis to visits to the castles of Fénis and Cly, the Mav museum, the mines of Saint-Marcel or the astronomical observatory of Saint-Barthelemy, but also the chapel of Marseiller (and many more), offering a wide range of typical products (from Crotta di Vegneron to the numerous farms in the area) and involving all the accommodation structures present (from hotels to farm holiday centres and numerous B&Bs).

The reserve, which will broaden the touristic offer in Valle d’Aosta, will already be included in the next regional fishing calendar and will become operational in spring 2021. A parking area and infrastructures are also being planned to allow proper use of the area, which is suitable for a trip out of the city.
